It's not an oddball coincidence.
I speak French as well as a native after 45 years of study and am often taken for a Swiss citizen, because the French know I speak German. They also know I'll tell them to get ****** in their own language if they give me ****.

Germans have always had a great work ethic and produce great products especially when compared to Italians and other groups. This has given them a sense of superiority. However, when they leave Europe, they are so insulated that they rarely succeed in business that involves manufacturing or retail unless iot's like in a store. Don't believe me? How come they managed Chrysler so badly? Answer: they don't know how to manage, especially on the fly. It's been bred out of them when the Allies occupied them. They just know how to do what they do in their own environment.

I had a BMW 525i and the guys there were honest. They even pro-rated a mistake they made and refunded me money!
I bought the mechanics two bottles of champagne for Christmas and the Parts manager gave me a tie of the Bimmer rack!

Two fast stories:

I went to an organic foods store in Grmany to ask about a tea for a friend's wife. The woman was very cold and snapped at me, because I asked what she considered an obvious question. So I got back at her: I asked her if the other product contained osmium or was it osmium free, like high fructose corn syrup free etc. She couldn't answer (not surprisingly). So, in front of the other customers, I said in German," Well, if you can't tell me if there's osmium in it, I don't want it, thanks (always say thanks). Then ther people started asking her: Does THIS have osmium? It isn't marked." Osmium is a rare element most people never see in their lives. But it attacked her competence in her own shop, and soon she was beleaguered by others (Germans).

In another instance, these people promised to get a reppair done and I even came in a day later. Still not done. I left my phone number to call me. Promised the next day. Still not done. I finally asked for it back. They wanted me to pay. I told them it wasn't fixed, what would I pay for? They got nasty and said they would report me to the cops. I told them I would report them for two crimes: fraud and working like Italians.
That pissed off the old guy. Then I killed hi: Kein Wunder, Du den Krieg verloren hast..." No wonder you lost the war...."

It's always fun to give the arroganmt ones their comeuppance.

You just need practice in finding them.
