I bought my 90 Volvo 740 wagon (a NON-turbo 4 cyl) about 3 months ago on ebay for $601. The plan was to strip and scrap it...until I drove it. Yes, it's got issues like intermittent radio, a passenger window that doesn't work, a missing catalytic converter and no front speakers...but I've put about 2500 miles on it since I picked it up and it's got over 313k miles now...on a NON-turbo 4! I feel quite safe in the car, and was worried about taking it 180 miles from home to go on Reserve duty...but it made it there and back all the while pulling about 22mpg.

I wished I could afford a 240DL or 240GL when I was in college. I'm pretty happy with it right now
