With the car yes, every chance I get I drive out in the rain because we get so little of it here. When it snowed I took it out in the snow and had fun with it. However, after every fun little session I have had I always, always wash the underbelly with water and if I think necessary, degreaser.
That night when I got back from my snowy adventure, it was 8:30 at night, about 45oF light drizzle and I put the car in our RV parking, rinsed the entire car and under body, put it in the garage and used a chamois to dry off the entire car. Next morning it was like it never happened
