I have the DC15 Ball Animal. I like the maneuverability and it works pretty well. My only complaint would be that the front is too light and has a tendency to bounce over loop carpeting on the return stroke. I would check out a few of the other manufacturers and look at some comparisons between similar models.

Take a look at the Kenmore Progressive 36932 and the Eureka Boss Smart Vac 4870. Both may be better than the Dyson.
