I looked at the Onkyo TX-SR705 for about a year but at nearly $900 it was out of my price range. Two months ago I found it NEW on Amazon for $450. I just checked and it's still there at that price. I've been very pleased with this receiver/amp and it's also THX certified, which is nice. Another thing I like is that it's 7.1 surround sound. I'm set up for 5.1, so that leaves two channels that can be routed to speakers in my study also powered by the Onkyo that can play a separate source. So my wife can watch a movie in the family room while I also listen to CD music in the study at the same time! Pretty cool, huh?
