My '98 has been exibiting some strange behavior lately. Sometimes I hear a high pitched "squeeling" sound from the passenger dashboard area. This is accompanied by the blower speed "revving" up and down as if some invisible person were pressing a throttle on it.

Otherwise, it seems to work fine in auto mode. I can also set the speed manually to any position and it will work.

Is this the same type of problem you guys have experienced and is the regulator on it's way out?
