The "free market" has made no such statement. A huge reason for that increased cost associated with Nuclear power is the primitive histrionics of the eco-freaks and their attendant acolytes. Consequently the US is still, in the 21st century, buggering around with coal fired power plants while places such as France have over 80 percent of their energy supplied by nuclear.
