Turbocharger Guru s,

I checked out the post on trubochargers, but could not find anything on the possible problem with the turbocharger on my 83 300cd. There is defintely a vibration sound around the tubrocharger area. The sound is like a piece of loose sheet metal vibrating. The vibration sound is at it worse when the engine is at idle. When the turbo is kicks in (2000 rpm +) the sound is not as bad. There also seems to be a slight lose of power. There is no noticeable excessive smoke (white or black) occuring during idle or acceleration.
I thought maybe a bad water pump, but the water temp. has been at normal.
Any ideas?
