Exactly right. The integrity of our system of exchange has been damaged. How badly and how long til we recover remains to be seen.
I think one of the biggest problems with communism is that it tends to make it easier for corrupt people to abuse the system, the public trust, etc. But unrestrained gaming of our capital based financial system can't be much better.
