I used a 1 Amp fuse on the positive line to the pump...it hasn't blown yet. However, I DID have the fuse on it with my OLD pump failed. I knew it blew because one morning I was starting the car and didn't hear the normal "hum" of the pump.....checked the fuse, sure enough it was blown. Replaced pump with a spare and put in a new fuse, its been fine ever since. I'm glad I fused it!
