Oh, I didn't realize you had to cut the mounting bracket. I can't really say if there would be too much vibration or not. As long as there wasn't enough movement to unseat the O-ring, then you should be okay, but I am less sure of this now than I was before I knew the mounting bracket was history.

At this point you really would want to weigh the cost of a new one versus the pain of having to re-do it later.....

If in doubt, get a new one unless it is big $$. That might be a junkyard part... How hard to weld a new bracket on?
