Hey now, thats not necessarily true....my 300SD needed tons of repairs the first couple years. I may have spent 3x the purchase price over the past 5 years, but I've gotten it up to pristine mechanical condition now. Physical is another matter....here in MI thats almost impossible to keep perfect.

And despite my "massive spending" on getting everything up to snuff, my cost per mile of owning the car repairs-wise is only about 5-6 cents a mile. WAY less than a new car. I've driven my car over 70,000 miles and it has never let me down or left me stranded.
