I arrived in SoCal today at about 1:00 this afternoon and had a late lunch at fashion island.
Unfortunately, an overcast day made for unattractive photos.
While this is my first time driving to California, I've probably visited the state more than 20 times in my life. I have yet to become complacent about the insane about of gorgeous classic Benzes on the roads. That's why JGS (the company I started a thread on that sells time capsule Mercedes) and local forum members are able to find these cars, THEY'RE EVERYWHERE! It seems like every time I blink, I notice another nice old European car.
For Example: 3 photos in under 30 seconds.
The Ferrari turned left at the intersection, and this pulled up alongside me... driven by an elderly woman.
then, I notice the nice black 210 wagon...
I'm having trouble driving, following my GPS's directions, and rubber necking at cars all at the same time.
Example number 2: Craigslist...
Here's the craigslist Mercedes listings in Wichita. I'm lucky to see one a day.

and here is LA's Mercedes listings: well over 100 a day.

Wichita is the largest city in Kansas, mind you, so the population difference is not even close to 100-1, more like 10-1
My final stop of the day was California's premier benz dealership, Fletcher Jones...
I felt like an idiot snapping photos at the dealer. That coupled with my old car parted the salesmen herd at the front door like Moses and the Red Sea.

I'm used to having a yuppie like initial impression with people, so I couldn't help but be a little bit offended.

(not really, kidding)
