That boat is a Ray Hunt design, when it got rough out we could keep up with larger boats, like 36 or 38 SeaRay's.

I really like the design of the 31's, nice big open cockpit. In fact, I'd prefer one. Unfortunately due to my reproductivity cabin space and sleeping accommodations are as important as anything else.
BBs are great for pushing them along, not so much if you have to feed them.

My fathers fuelie 454's use 45 gph at 18 kt cruise and he puts 70-80 hours of cruising on them in the summer. That's more than my wallet can handle! The 36's actually don't burn any more fuel, even though they're heavier and have larger cabins, since they don't "squat" quite as much.
I'm kind of afraid that we're going to get bit by the camping bug (trailer or rv) this summer. We're going to rent one and do some travelling over the summer and see how it goes. My parents have been bitten, so much so that they're downsizing the boat and upsizing their camper, although a good part of that is they're getting older and my mom is the primary deck hand and they don't want it to get to be too much to handle.
I'll always have a boat. It may just stay smaller with the funds diverted to some sort of camper.
