LOS ANGELES, Jan. 8 (UPI) -- A group of passengers on board an airplane headed to Los Angeles restrained a man who allegedly began making threats during the flight, a passenger says.

Guitarist Chris Llewellyn said he was one of seven passengers on board Delta Airlines Flight 110 this week that leapt into action after a male passenger allegedly attacked a flight attendant and began making threats, the Los Angeles Times said Thursday.

"Don't come near me," the unidentified man allegedly said during Wednesday's flight. "I have a bomb. I have a bomb."

Llewellyn said the man was also attempted to open the airplane's rear emergency exit, an action that could prove deadly inflight.

"I thought this guy was going to open the door. I was thinking, 'I'm not going to go down with the plane,'" the 26-year-old Llewellyn said.

With the allegedly threatening passenger restrained, the airplane was able to land safely and the suspect was taken into custody. The Times said no bomb was found.
