Anybody know one?

I'm not an audiophile or a collector of vintage equipment - just want to keep up with current day technology and figure out what to buy - maybe a step or 3 above Walmart and pre-packaged systems, but not high end.

Back in the day, I was willing to spend more than I am now.

BTW, I was just sorting through old manuals and receipts (I keep the receipt attached to the manual), and noticed that equipment seemed to be a lot more expensive in the day. My Nakamichi tapedeck was $300 in '78, Onkyo turntable $250 etc. Even my Walkman was $100.

With inflation, that would be what - 2-3x now?
