I'm planning to upgrade my ride to a nice big older diesel MB. I've got a nice 220S gas for play, a 1958, but am in heavy need of a "new" day-to-day ride. Are there any particular models other than the 350 (which I've been told to avoid), that I should stay away from due to inherent problems? I am kind of leaning to looking for a 300SDL since I do want a big car. A dealer near me (an MB dealer) has an 84 300SD w/33K but they're asking 20K for the car which seems REALLY high even if the car is perfect. Any advise is appreciated even if it's to say get gas.
