I looked through the threads but could not find a similar problem. No problem starting the car, I just called him on his cell as he was heading home and he pulled off the road and the car is still idling at 2,000rpm. I should mention that he had the valve stem seals changed today, oil change and antifreeze flushed and replaced. a compression check was done and all 6 cyl were even at 170. I would appreciate any assistance.

Did you make sure the idle control valve is connected? ( if it has one) or the Engine temp sensor? I know If I disconnect those or the OVP, I get a high idle.
