Whether it has a valid registration or not, its a junk car that you are dismantling... not something appropriate to do in a densely populated residential neighborhood. Repairs and maintenance is one thing, junking a car out for all the neighborhood to see is another. You must have great parents. Mine would have never let that happen while I was living there.
While I agree I would never do that in a nice area, and when I junked and parted a Mercedes a few years ago I kept it at my dads friends shop. Still HOA rub me the wrong way.
