Thank you, MB Doc
I searched the forum, found EPC net, and looked up the transfer case diagram. I found the output seal (and companion flange lock nut):
A2109970646 seal ring
A2109900151 nut
I also see that there is what looks like a fill plug (believe upper LHS of front case half). Wish I could figure out how to cut and paste the diagram here.
Could not find a drain plug or an input seal.
Assuming no input seal on the E320, can the output seal be serviced without removing the transfer case from the trans? Assume siphon out existing lube (MB syn ATF, per your note), and refill - all via fill plug. Assume correct level is fill plug opening?
(Believe there might be a seal on on the ML as there seems to be an intermediate case between trans and transfer case on those models).
I am pretty familiar with porsche, audi, and BMW, but have no experience with mercedes. The EPC is pretty cool, and parts prices (via this forum site) seem reasonable, based upon what I've looked up so far.
I also saw work shop manual sticky on forum, and will order shop manuals. Assume this is the best way to go for shop manual access? I ask because the EPC link seem like it has workshop manuals online (for a subscription fee?), but I can't figure out how to sign up.
See you're in GA; wish you were closer. I'm in coastal NC.
