I'd need a ton of recommendations to accept a repair on the head such as welding cracks. If it were mine and it had cracks, I'd get a new casting or one from Metric Motors (www.mercedesengines.net).

Spring for valve stem seals from the dealer rather than aftermarket or even OEM and make sure exhaust seals go on exhaust valves.

Parts ain't cheap.
