I believe you are mistaken; at least to the extent that someone actually did this.

There was a thread where someone wanted to epoxy them or some such.....not sure what he planned to do if his orings failed again or if the SOV or lift pump ever went bad????

Once you've done this once (replaced orings) it is pretty quick to do again by moving the windsheild washer bottle out of the way and reaching up under the IM. Mine were last done 3 yrs ago and haven't been touched since.
