I just towed my new 77 300D project home on a dolly. The engine was out so I didn't have to disconnect the drive shaft. But I towed it with the rear on the dolly, locked the steering wheel and tied it up to it couldn't turn. I didn't have any issues. Just take it slow and easy. Seems like with the engine in you'd want to tow it with the front wheels up and the drive shaft disconnected at the differential.
