I totally agree with you that the stock stereo absolutely blows....



I made the switch to all aftermarket components about 2-3 years ago, and never looked back. The difference in sound quality is amazing.


But back to your question, the Amps, Tuner, and Brain are all seperate components. IMHO, you should by pass the stock amps, and just run the speakers directly off the headunit.


Did you read my posts about gently shaving the dash, and putting 5.25s into it? They fit with a little work from a dremel, and its worth the extra bass you get over a 4" speaker. There is alot of space behind the front speakers, but I do not have any measurements.

For front speakers, I am currently running Focal Components, but am going to be making the transition into another set here soon....




BTW - Where are you at in Sacramento? Always nice to see a W124 cabbie thats being driven, and not sitting.
