83 TD. So every once in awhile some sort of fluid gets scattered around my engine compartment, with a good amount ending up on the driver's side of the hood (thrown by the steering belt I guess). It's not black, and it's not red, and it looks alot like hydraulic fluid. However, it might be my imagination but these "events" seem to coincide with the AC kicking in (was warm today).

So I'm wondering, is it leaking hydraulic fluid, or is it somehow the AC? And if it is the hydraulic stuff, what would be leaking in a way that gets fluid on the belts (and thus scattered all over). I haven't been able to catch this leak in live action...
