barry123400 it is 1986 190d 2.5 non turbo. i just read the shut off valve install in one of the forums the pics they showed looked a little different than mine. They also said if the valve was installed wrong the manual lever would not shut the car off but mine does. I also wonder if maybe it is installed wrong and that i didnt have the problem because the valve was not getting vacum, but when i changged the connectors it started getting vacum and started having the problem. Do you kmnow if it is possible to get to the vacum valve on the igniton switch with out removing the entire dash.
