Engine looks like the second photo; it has the same type of aluminum finned (ribbed) valve covers. Russian decoder says car is an "end of model" car year 1980. So I'm trying to determine if this engine is the aluminum block 5 liter 240HP euro (205 HP U.S.) so I can use it in a transplant for more HP than the 4.5 liter V8 commonly found in the U.S. model 450SEL that only has 180HP. What is confusing is that a 117986.. engine could just be the U.S. iron block 4.5 engine but I am not sure.
