I want to be helpful, so I'm commenting as opposed to offering a part.

I discovered when swapping front bumpers on my '77 W123 that a later model bumper had a nearly identical, but incompatible front plate bracket. They seem to have moved the bolt holes by about half an inch at some point. It's something to consider.
