I just bought a 1998 SLK 230. The battery had died so the radio needs to be reset . The dealer gave me the code, but unfortunately it is not the original radio for the car. I took it to my local dealer. They pulled the radio and checked numbers but were still unsuccessful. I have on manuel or literature on the car or radio. The radio Model # is MF 2910 the serial # is AL 2910 Y 01 09200. Can someone please help me. I bought this car for my teenage daughter and she needs a radio. So far I have been given 5 different codes, none of them was right. It is an alpine product made in Japan for Mercedes. Can anybody help a dad whose trying to make his little girl happy?
