CLIC clamps provide the specified tightness--who knows what you're doing with screw-type clamps, and of course both too loose and too tight are problems.

Correct indeed but I wonder how we ever managed to replace fuel filters properly without the use of CLIC clamps

Not to hijack this thread and not attacking you or your position, but isn't this the same Mercedes who specified that automatic transmissions were filled for life, made biodegradable wiring harnesses, located unsealed winter/sport auto trans switches in the vicinity of cup holders causing trans computers to fail needlessly, built W210 cars with spring perches and bodies that rust out, installed defective evaporators in numerous models that fail releasing tons of refrigerant to the atmosphere, etc., while denying that these defects exist? I'll take my chances obtaining the proper torque on worm drive clamps when I replace my fuel filter. Mark
