Thanks guys - all these lists are making me feel better about my $4k 95 E300D...
I'm pretty sure it's now my $5500 E300D and I've not driven it in months! (GP issue)

So far:
cruise control amp
Stereo head unit
antenna
removed headlight wipers / washers
Glow plugs (started the most painfull process I've ever endured in 20 years of wrenching)
rebuilt fuel pump
new valve cover gasket, intake manifold gasket
Fuel filters (both)
trans filter and fluid
oil and filter (1st, dino - 2nd 5w40 synthetic rotella)
injectors rebuilt
injector return lines
fuel lines to and from IP
delivery valve seals
adjusted front wheel bearings
driveshaft midship bearing and housing
billsteins all around
front springs
alignment
removed P/O bolted in car phone and associated rats nest of wires, and rear window antenna...
All this since purchasing the car July '08.
