On my 190E, I noticed that the orange light only comes on if I pull the knob out and THEN turn it clockwise to turn on the fog lights.
It doesn't go on if I turn first and then pull.
(regardless, the back fog light doesn't work...just the orange interior light goes on) :-)

You might wanna give that a try though.
