Piston and diaphragm vac. pumps are interchangeable on all 616/617 engines - new for older type or old for newer. If you use the latter you will need to run a hose from the exhaust port to a clean part of the engine compartment. Replace the rocker bearings if you can feel even the slightest play. Bearings are 6 ball No. 626 deep groove journal bearing, 19Ø x 6 x6. Buy a reputable brand and do not use 8 ball brg's with or without dust covers.
