I have to agree with your lexus story.. my ES300 has 128K on the clock and never had any issues, it still runs nearly perfectly to this day (I credit my own maintenance). It is definately lacking a soul.
My MB on the other hand is full of soul but has its little issues once and again, but it is to be expected from a 31 year old car (31 years and 44 days to be exact). They are just so well built that they are fun to work on, sometimes I get excited to find something to fix on it as it is such a joy (compared to my chevy and the fords that I have turned wrenches on).
