I have a 1985 380SL with 87K miles that suddenly dies for no apparent reason while just driving along. It will restart after 1-3 tries, then the same problem repeats in about 2 days again. Car will idle in driveway for 2 hours with no problem. Car runs perfect otherwise.

Any suggestions for what may be causing this problem would be greatly appreciated.
