Next time it happens, check for voltage at the terminal block and jump 1 and 3. When you tried to jump it there recently, did you get sparks when you jumped the terminals? What did you use to jump the terminals? If you can get the starter to work from that terminal block, it indicates the problem is probably not the starter.
