1994 C280

Been dealing with this for about 7 months. I've looked and looked for the leak to no avail.

Today, I'm actually looking for another leak on the front of the engine behind the driver head light and had just had the car running. I noticed some "oil spray" and couldn't figure out where it was coming from.

Just then, I notice greenish oil bubbling out of the sight glass. Frankly, I had noticed a crack 3-4 years ago but figured it wasn't hurting anything. So, there's my leak. Unfortunately, it is a one piece unit with the receiver/dryer.

I can charge the system. Question is, how do I "empty" the system to replace the receive/dryer. Secondly, don't I have to "pull a vacuum" before I'd recharge it? Can I/ How do I do that?
