On a scale of 1-10, I'd say it's somewhere between 10 and 11. If you make a mistake, you may get to do the job all over again, to figure out what went wrong. Pro tranny shops have a tranny dyno so they can test the rebuilt unit on the bench, before installing it in the car. Saves a lot of time if you happen to put a ball in the wrong spot in the valvebody, or some other little thing.

Is that it? No other problems? I don't think that's a rebuild candidate just yet. Isn't there a spring kit from Mercedes to help with a 2-3 upshift flare? There's also the Superior kit as well. I'd sure try that before spending the time or $$$ on a rebuild! BTW - I assume you've already changed fluid & filter, and drained the converter during the change. If not, that's the first step.
