I am converting my 1978 300D servo style to full manual also...a little at a time....
I figured it out by looking at the disc a little deeper and pulled up the document 83-508 ( control of air condition system). Found it on page 12 which tell about the supplementary wiring harness for the ac system.

when you do converison make sure you pull up the wiring diagram thats in the ETM and document 83 508. the wiring diagram alone doesnt tell you all needed to know.

the article in DIY section is somewhat imcomplete and should be edited to be more complete.
