My take on this is the following:

Your injectors were clogged and had bad spray patterns. This caused unburnt fuel to wash down the cylinder walls diluting the engine oil AND carbon-up the combustion chambers. Diluted oil will burn-off rapidly.

I imagine you've experienced a surge in your MPG and have much more power since the injectors were replaced.
