I missed a few photos.

This car was given to the owner's wife as a bonus from her employer. Apparently, they had two, and used them for deliveries and presentations of whatever product the company was selling. Some bonus, huh? They would take it to the dealer for service and repair anything that broke. "Repair" probably wouldn't be a good word choice, more like replace. It seems the limits of a dealers diagnostic ability is to figure out what is wrong, and rather than troubleshoot, replace. I can't imagine the thousands upon thousands spent on this car. Its just astonishing.

He tried to tell me about turbo lag and how it was the norm with these cars, and I rebutted by letting him drive the Defiant. His response, "holy $*%, if mine drove like this I would probably keep it." This wagon does have the lag that Ol' Turbo used to, though not quite as bad. A banjo bolt cleaning would probably take care of it.

I had actually seen the car two years before, when they tried to trade it in for a new Chevy Truck. He wound up buying a Tundra, but I remember him and his wife well. Their purchase decision was based solely on which truck would haul their competitive trained dogs better.

Heck of a nice guy, and bought his wife a new R-class a few years ago to replace the wagon. Unfortunately, he recently lost his wife and father within a week of each other around Christmas time. He had the wagon parked at his dad's while trying to sell, and was still sorting through stuff as I got there.
