This isn't the first time that Stewart has brought attention to an important issue. He doesn't hold himself out as a newsman and anyone who relies on him for basic news is truly out to lunch, but satire has its place. Stewart and Stephen Colbert are like political cartoonists. Maybe I'm damning them with faint praise, but they do a better job of commenting on current affairs than most people on cable or network news. They have a wider variety of guests and do more in-depth interviews than most shows.
