I'll say $500-900.

BTW, I have a good friend in Amarillo, and we've been to the canyon- beautiful place.
The paint looks shiny and red, interior seems fine, he claims there is no blow-by, no a/c, new struts...

I hope to go see it sometime in the next week or two.

He was asking $1950 at first but now is down to $1775 according to his latest CL posting.

He isn't getting any takers apparently. I am only interested because I have a 1981 300D that only gets 23-24 mpg and is very slow. It is even slower when I am driving up hills or into the wind. I drive about 800-1000 miles a week with work so any gain in fuel economy is extra money in my pocket.

Is the 2.2 as slow as a na 300D?

I went to Palo Duro Canyon today and it is still beautiful.

Today was a perfect day except for me not knowing it was the first day of Spring Break. The place was packed and I had my dog off-leash following me around on my mountain bike. I had to cut the trip short because of people freaking out about him.
