I seem to recall looking at an old 450SL and it had that metal bar that connected the seatbelt mechanism (which is part of the seat-the female end) to the tunnel in the rear seat area. My 116 car has the same setup.

I saw a 1986 560SL and I was looking for that bar, and I did not see it, does that model of car still use that bar?
