A new smog pump would be prohibitive in price. A rebuilt would work just fine. That is what I did, plus a few new hoses and check valve. Several members have had success in doing the rebuild themselves if the problem is just the main bearing. It is an odd ball sized bearing but there is an inexpensive Chinese one readily available.
