Be careful when removing the copper washer. Do not remove the delivery valve assembly, especially do not use a magnet to remove the delivery valve assembly. If the delivery valve assembly is removed, the barrel that it sits upon may lift and rotate slightly such that it is no longer properly aligned with its tiny locating pin. Then, when everything is reassembled, the barrel will be pressed down and jam against the locating pin which will itself be pushed out of position. The net result will be no fueling from that cylinder. If this happens, the pump may be able to be repaired easily, or it may require complete disassembly and recalibration ($$$). This has happened to a number of forum members recently, myself included. I was lucky and was able to fix my pump, although I had to remove it from the car to do it.
I'm not trying to scare you here. The o-ring job is simple and easy, as long as you don't get that barrel out of position. I was surprised how easy it was to get the barrel out of position, and how difficult it was to tell that it had happened, but I had not been forewarned about this when I did the job. If I had known what to look for, it would not have happened. Now you know, so go forth and have a successful DV oring replacement job!
