It's interesting that Team USA just lost to Japan in the World Baseball Classic (WBC). The championship game will be played between Japan and Korea. These are the same two countries that are grabbing automotive market share from the rest of the world and specifically the US.
The Asian teams don't hit a lot of homers or throw 100 mph fastballs. They concentrate on the details and execution. They let the situation determine the action.
Here's what Jimmy Rollins had to say:
“Their style is different.” “A lot of things they do, you know, we will get criticized for if we did them back home during the regular season. But that’s the way they play. They don’t worry about the big things. They do things right. And if there is anything that we can take away from what we’ve seen is to take advantage of another team’s mistakes.” "Japan’s players hit intelligently and situationally, and defend their positions with pride, and generally do not give an inch in any part of the game."
See any parallels between baseball and the US auto industry?
Oh well, there's always football! Who needs cars and baseball.
