I finally managed to get the heads off the engine and the chain did break.
3 seperate cylinders hit the intake valves and cracked the respective lifters in the process. So I'm at 6 valves, 6 lifters, and one timing chain.
Has anyone removed the oil pump chain on one of these?
I have the front cover partially off but it appears the the oil pump chain must come off first. Do I have to drop the oil pan to do this? I'm concerned that when the timing chain broke and wound up around the crankshaft it might have damaged the oil pump chain as well.
At this rate I will have the entire engine out of the car soon!
