Your car is both OBDI and OBDII, or at least the U.S. version. Your next step should really be to read the fault codes, or get them read. It's not that hard to build the code reader, or to find someone with an OBDII reader. The 38 pin is in the engine compartment, right rear, and the OBDII port is under the steering wheel.
