The difference is what is socially acceptable. It is socially acceptable to say Pit Bulls or Rotts are vicious dogs. It is socially acceptable to say that the Chinese products are junk. It is not socially acceptable to say that black people are X, Y or Z. All of which are prejudices. In muslim society, it is socially acceptable for a man to have 4 wives while it is not socially acceptable for a woman to have 4 husbands. In our society, it is socially acceptable for a guy to be sleeping around with women and he is known as a stud. It is socially unacceptable for a girl to be sleeping around with men and she is known as a slut.
As I said, let the offended do something about it by changing their image and not accepting those that do
